Reading Blog #3

Over break I went to the Van Gogh immersive experience exhibit in Chicago. It was truly amazing and like something I have never seen before. The walls were covered in timeless Van Gogh works transporting you into a different dimension. Like the pamphlet said, the exhibit truly did transform the neoclassical into the magical.

This exhibit opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of digital art. The Van Gogh immersive experience exhibit allows Van Gogh's work to live on through digital art. It immerses you in his work, placing you in his sunny landscapes and night scenes to his portraits and still life paintings. The exhibit takes popular timeless works of art by one of the greatest artists of all time and brings them to life all around you. The movement on the walls captures you, relaxes you, and brings you to a calm place. The sound of beautiful musical tracks brings the experience to another level, sending your mind to a magical place.

The Van Gogh immersive experience exhibit is just the first immersive experience exhibit I have been to, but will definitely not be my last. I think many who have been there have the same mindset as me. This could be the future of art. It could be the future of preserving artists' work when they pass. It could be the future of life. The Van Gogh immersive experience exhibit tied timeless stills and paintings with the new, upcoming digital style. It brings the past to the present and the present to the past.
